Grocery shopping as a college student can feel more like a daunting chore than something to look forward to, especially after a week crammed full of lectures and extracurriculars that eat away at our time.
We’re here to help you make grocery shopping easier as a student with a tight budget, little free time, and a big appetite. Here’s a list of resources provided by the U that are affordable and convenient:
Nutritious U Food Pantry
The food pantry is graciously supplied by The Food Group, a local food bank, that supplies our campus with fruits, veggies, grains, proteins, at very affordable prices.

St. Paul Mobile Food Pantry
Free groceries including produce, meat, and dairy products and household items available to any University of Minnesota student and their families. Operated by Keystone Community Services.

Mobile Market
Thanks to Minnesota Student Association (MSA), the Mobile Market provides our campus with discounted grocery items sold from a mobile grocery store.

SNAP Program
Students may be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which provides users with money to afford groceries. Learn more about SNAP here.
BrightSide Produce
Purchase fresh produce online and have it delivered to you. Order a bag of fresh produce here. Choose a price range that works for you with their “pay what you can” model.
