Helping U Out on Campus

A list of food resources provided by the University of Minnesota for students.

 

Grocery shopping as a college student can feel more like a daunting chore than something to look forward to, especially after a week crammed full of lectures and extracurriculars that eat away at our time.


We’re here to help you make grocery shopping easier as a student with a tight budget, little free time, and a big appetite. Here’s a list of resources provided by the U that are affordable and convenient:



Nutritious U Food Pantry

The food pantry is graciously supplied by The Food Group, a local food bank, that supplies our campus with fruits, veggies, grains, proteins, at very affordable prices.

St. Paul Mobile Food Pantry

Keystone Community Services Foodmobile truck delivering food

Free groceries including produce, meat, and dairy products and household items available to any University of Minnesota student and their families. Operated by Keystone Community Services.

Mobile Market

Thanks to Minnesota Student Association (MSA), the Mobile Market provides our campus with discounted grocery items sold from a mobile grocery store.

Free Meal Thursdays with Kitchen Coalition

Free, take-and-bake meals prepared by The Campus Club for students. Made in partnership between Minnesota Central Kitchen, The Campus Club, and Swipe Out Hunger.

SNAP Program

Students may be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which provides users with money to afford groceries. Learn more about SNAP here.



BrightSide Produce

Purchase fresh produce online and have it delivered to you. Order a bag of fresh produce here. Choose a price range that works for you with their “pay what you can” model.
